MEDWAY
RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENTS Queens County,
Nova Scotia
DIRECTIONS TO GREENFIELD
Greenfield
can be reached by a number of routes. The village surrounds the
intersection of Highway 210 with the Medway River Road and can be
reached directly from Port Medway, Mill Village and Charleston.
The
only problem with this very scenic drive is that, from around
Riversdale to just before Bangs Falls, the road is gravel and tends
to develop wash board surfaces with pot holes unless it has been
recently graded. On occasion the Medway River will flood the
road in
several spots. Under good conditions it is the quickest route
from
the other villages.
For
those coming from Liverpool, the best route is to take Highway 8 to
Highway 210 (turn right shortly after passing 10 Mile Lake Provincial
Park).
For
those coming from Annapolis Royal and Kejimkujk National Park, pass
through Caledonia on Highway 8, continue on Highway 8 to Highway 210,
and turn left onto a paved road. There are two shortcuts, but
they have unpaved sections.
Coming
from the Halifax-Bridgewater direction take the Wileville Exit
(Exit 13, Highway 103) onto Highway 325 until you pass the
Newcombville Fire Department on the left. It shortly
reaches the T
intersection with Highway 210 where you turn left on a paved road and
on to
Greenfield.
Alternatively
one can reach Greenfield by taking a right turn at Exit 17a onto the
Medway River Rd.
