RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENTS
Queens County, Nova Scotia TRAINING Like all good fire departments, the volunteer members of Mill Village Fire Department undergo ongoing training to develop and maintain the necessary skills to perform the multitude of tasks they may be called upon to perform. The video below is one example of the type of hands on training activity undertaken. This particular exercise involved much planning and preparatory work, including sourcing, placement and removal of the vehicles involved. What better way to ensure high standards of safety and effectiveness are maintained. ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 25, 2011, A JOINT JAWS OF LIFE EXERCISE WAS HELD BY MEMBERS OF MILL VILLAGE AND PORT MEDWAY, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF CHIEF DONNIE WHYNOT. THIS IS A VIDEO RECORD OF MUCH OF THE EXERCISE.
SPECIAL THANKS TO THE ON-SCENE TRAINER, BENTLEY RICE. BENTLEY IS A DEPUTY FIRE MARSHAL IN CENTRAL NOVA SCOTIA AND IS AN INSTRUCTOR AT THE FIREFIGHTER SCHOOL IN WAVERLEY, NOVA SCOTIA |
